Monday morning photo. 25/6/07.

Late again, broad gauge Rx 210 and narrow gauge T 50 shunt the dual gauge yard at Gladstone in the mid north of South Australia.

For Pete Groom the Rx was the SAR equivalent of Victoria's DD and the NSWGR's P6, later C32 class.

The Rx had a big, booming chime whistle like most SAR broad gauge locos that would just about knock over a brick shithouse and the little T had a shrill PHEEEEEEEP that was lovely to hear on a clear, still desert night.

Regards,

Peter Bruce.
